Simulation of space debris observations with EISCAT_3D

Abstract:
We first give a general introduction to space debris and then describe the software toolbox "next-generation Space Object Radar Tracking Simulator" (SORTS++) and preliminary results from this software. We have applied this toolbox to the EISCAT_3D radar system, currently under construction, to optimize observation strategies and predict the space debris observations capabilities of the system.
