The status of meteor research at IRF
A short overview of the meteor method used at EISCAT is given as well as the most important results since the start in 1990. Head echoes, head echo scattering and the current understanding of the process is presented. The potential of new high resolution measurements at present EISCAT, ALIS and a future EISCAT is discussed.
