SEMINARIUM: Shape, size, and concentration of ice particles in Kiruna’s cirrus clouds (Veronika Wolf, LTU)

Balloon-borne in-situ measurements of cirrus clouds have been carried out for several years in winter from ESRANGE.
With an in-situ imager, the ice particles are photographed directly in the cloud.
These images are examined for particle size, shape and number of particles.
These particle properties varied for the measured cirrus clouds, which can be explained by their different origin.
