Abstract
The first 1/2 of this talk will report on the development of aircraft in-situ probes, beginning with the first probes in the early 1940's thru to the current developments. The second part of the talk will use the current generation of probes to highlight new measurements in ice cloud properties in tropical through Arctic clouds.
